PAT Testing.

It is an employers legal duty to ensure all electrical appliances in the workplace are checked for electrical safety. Every year there are approximately 1250 reported accidents at work involving electrical burns and electrical shock, around 3% of these reported accidents are fatal.

PAT Testing

Our Aim - Portable appliance testing, or PAT testing as it is more commonly known, is included in the services provided by RD Wild. We are here to help our customers meet their obligations under the Electricity at Work Act (1989).

PAT testing in Stoke on Trent - Our Services

PAT testing is carried out on a periodic basis to all portable and fixed appliances in the workplace, i.e. any equipment that has to be plugged into the mains or wired into a fused spur unit.

Using the latest up to date test equipment, all electrical appliances are barcode labelled to accurately identify each appliance in our database. This is beneficial during future retesting, as it allows our Engineers to scan the barcodes so that the software finds the stored details, saving time over a manual data entry method.

On completion a report is provided detailing all appliances tested and test results; a separate report is provided for any items that fail the testing. We can supply the report in paper or electronic format.

Why PAT Testing is important?

Regular PAT testing minimizes Electrical shock risks in the workplace. By having a planned program of inspection and testing, potential electrical hazards are more likely to be detected at an earlier stage than if equipment were left unchecked.
